MISSION

 

The School of Miniature Painting (SOMP) was founded in 2010 to preserve one of the most treasured traditions of miniature painting from Asia and the Middle East and usher its safe transition into the 21st century. 

 

SOMP is the first school of its kind to offer classes in Arab, Indian, Mughal, Persian, Ottoman, and Mongol painting as well as Manuscript Illustration/Art of the Book. SOMP is based in London, a global hub of culture and art with numerous museums, libraries, and unique bookshops that house some of the finest collections of miniature paintings and manuscripts.
