Welcome to the School of Miniature Painting (SOMP). I’m excited to share this space with you and journey together into the exquisite world of miniature painting. 

 

As a young child, I was first drawn to miniature painting surrounded by books, poetry, and art. I remember feeling exhilarated by how miniature art transforms the material world and transports the viewer into a dreamlike narrative with unfolding mysteries. A miniature art piece can depict an entire, manifold story on a small canvas. I find it one of the most fascinating and creative art forms.

 

For many students, miniature painting is the ideal area of specialization, enhancing and perfecting their craft for a variety of applications. Students can apply their advanced skills in contemporary contexts by creating book illustrations, book covers, and surface embellishments in the design industry at large. 

 

I am continually inspired by our students' passion, dedication, and talents and the innovative creations and collaborations that SOMP fosters. I look forward to exploring the infinite possibilities of miniature art.
